The Mascelli Wedding

June 26th, 2021 was a perfect day for a string quartet, and the Mascellis chose well.

It is always an honor to play music at wedding ceremonies, and it's no secret that quartets are our favorite ensemble. The Mascelli's inclusion of an intimate joining ritual that involved combining soil from the couples' childhood homes made it all the more special, and when Jillian asked our founder Patrick to play Here Comes the Sun on guitar as a backdrop, the whole thing came together beautifully.

The Mascellis chose Ibis Music because they wanted a classical sound with contemporary arrangement, and Jillian, the bride, had dreamed of walking down the aisle to "La Vie en Rose." There's something so romantic about the lilting, jazzy harmonies of early and mid-twentieth-century compositions, and the with the choice of a full string quartet, we were really able to do the complex harmonies the justice that they - and the couple - deserved.

It truly is an honor and a privilege to be chosen as such an important part of someone's special day, and we are grateful to have been a part of the Mascelli wedding. A big thank you to this couple who made our job easy by being so kind, friendly, and welcoming from the moment we arrived on site until the last chord of the recessional song!
